Installing Trellis is something not everyone is set up to do, which is why we provide the installation service. Depending on capacity we can take on various jobs from installing Trellis to installing posts for the work and other connected landscaping work. In 2022, we had the ability to do installs plus some small decks and full fence installs. Installation is often a custom challenge but we do have some standard rules – typically once posts are suitable we allow 1 hour for the first panel installed and then half an hour per panel thereafter. Some installs are just fence toppers and some are full privacy screens – if you can send us details and identify what you are after we can try and give you a really good idea on how we would approach it. We love it when you can provide general sizing and details about whether there is existing structure to work from or not. Our standard installation or build rate for our work is $67.50 + GST per hour.

Delivery prices vary but typically will be $75 for 1 panel, $90 for 1-5 and $120 for 6 or more.

Main types of installation:

Fence toppers

Our inquiries for fence toppers range from 300mm to 1500mm (and there was some higher requests in 2022). Normally with fence toppers, we need some sort of vertical stability, so we are looking for how we can connect your panels on top of your existing fence. Most often we are looking for posts, or how to extend the posts to give us stability while maintaining the look of your existing fence and matching the overall aesthetics. Installation on existing posts

We mainly need to know if we are going between, or on the front of. Where there are existing posts it is relatively common for the spacing at the bottom to be slightly different to the spacing at the top, so there are some details worth checking. This is a very fast and easy installation, and we can do a lot with 2 – 4 hours of labour when we are using existing posts.

Installation needing new posts

We normally tackle this as a 2 part process – because posting is often not an exact science. The greatest variable when putting posts in is the unknown nature of the ground. We often hit roots, rocks, rubbish, concrete – all sots of hurdles to putting a post exactly where we would like to – and from a practicality position, what we normally do to keep cost effective, is work to reasonable tolerances. So, if we are doing an install with posts, often we will book the job in to our calendar to make sure we hit a reasonable timeliness, and then book in the installation of the posts the week before, or early in the week of the panel manufacture. This way, we can take accurate measurements once the posts are in, and get the panels made to the right size.

We deal with common types of installation however please feel free to inquire about the costs or intricacies of your job. Often a video call can do wonders, and can give you a clear idea within minutes. We do make site visits, but typically this is a very costly and laborious exercise for us, so we try and minimise site visits by using technology where we can.
